Eithne Dunbar’s birthday is November 1.  Since 2007, the Kingston Anniversary 10K run has been held on the first Sunday in November.

Eithne decided in 2015 to make this her special birthday run. Eithne’s run has become a unique and happy event for family here and lately also back in her native Ireland. Those not able to cheer her on in person in Kingston, are invited to run in their own location on race day.

Every year since then, Eithne, a regular 5K runner, has trained hard for the weeks ahead of the Anniversary run in preparation for the extra distance.  Due to Covid-19, 2020 was a virtual event and, true to form, Eithne drove to Kingston and ran the regular course on her own.

Eithne has been remarkably consistent over the years in clocking times between 63 and 67 minutes.

This year on Sunday Nov 7, Eithne ran a fine 1:08:14 for the windy, but sunny 10K course.
