It’s great to see the return to in-person races continues.

After the April Cornwall event, a significant number of members and area runners participated in the the May 28 Ottawa Race Weekend.

Over the years, this has been one of the most popular multi-distance events on our runners’ calendars.

Again some fine performances were turned in. And as has been the case over the years, pride of place must go to Rick Swift for yet another age category 5K first place.  Rick’s time was a remarkable 23:44.7  in the 75-79 category.

Likewise in her 75-79 age group, the indomitable Mary Clayton garnered a silver medal in the 10K with a finish time of 1:07:43.

Susan Filion ran the 42.2K marathon in the fine time of 3:20:40.5, which earned her an age category 5th place.

Special mention should also be made of Zack Boyd‘s doubling up and completing fine runs in both the 5K and the 10K. It looks like Zack also threw in an 8:35 2K as well for good measure!

Congrats to these runners and indeed to all who participated.
