Community is much more than belonging to something; it’s about doing something together that makes belonging matter.
Today was a special thanksgiving Monday. We are thankful for everyone that came out today to spend their time with us as we got together and celebrated the kind of man Rick “Rhythm” Steenwyk was.
The Brockville Road Runners have been like family to us the past 20 + years. We’ve enjoyed many great memories over the past years with our Saturday morning coffee runs to organizing Brockville roadrunners races like the TIPS.
Today felt like old times. Special thanks to Margaret Story and her husband Bob for creating the beautiful race bibs. I know everyone isn’t a Giants fan, haha. Thanks Jim Locke, Ruby Locke and Stacey Nicole for making sure we were all greeted with tea and coffee when we crossed the finish line. We could not have organized a better event without you.
Dad would have been looking down at us laughing at all of this. But he deserves to feel all the love and attention because he always put everyone above him first.
He will always be loved and forever remembered ❤️
